“In the American flutist Katharine Rawdon we have an incomparable sound, rich and sensual, achieving on the alto flute a rare depth and expressivity, and even on the piccolo achieving the most versatile and malleable exploitation of the instrument”
Performances have included flute solo recitals and concerto performances—from Bach to Boulez, but also multi-media projects including composing an original soundtrack for “Bunko”, a mock-documentary by the Los Angeles artist Ed Fuentes, studio recordings for pop music, creating a show about Garcia Lorca with the actor João Grosso for the Coimbra International Festival, and shows for families such as “Around the World in 20 Flutes and 20 Minutes” and Mother Goose by Ravel for the Lisbon Opera House.
